Construction Manager

Fiber to the site project in LA:

Responsibilities are to manage site walks with Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) and Sprint to coordinate and verify fiber status and path to the Clearwire cabinet in Nextel/Sprint allowed areas. Landed general contractors, bids and managed site upgrades, improvements, safety and tracked site progressions.  In direct contact with Ericcsson PM for tracker updates and any site issues that may occur.  Responsible to update internal PM’s on progress of project, financial status of each site and any safety issues that may come up.

 

Mycom North America, AZ, CA5/24/10 – 2/20/14

Construction Manager

Sprint Vision Project in San Diego:

Reported directly to Alcatel Lucent construction team on all matters concerning the build or unforeseen issues that may not be stipulated on construction drawings before proceeding with any changes.  Managed and oversaw internal personnel and multiple general contractors with all aspects of the site.    Conducted weekly safety meetings to ensure knowledge of all safety hazards and regulations for every job site.  Planned and coordinated all aspects of the job with Alcatel Lucent, internal crews as well as general contractors.  Oversaw and proofread all closeout packages before submittal. Ensure that all permits were picked up before a site starts, then signed and submitted after construction of a site.  Coordinated all decommissions with general contractors.  Ensured all trackers were updated daily and all crews were well prepared daily for the tasks at hand.  Lastly, report all issues to superiors for direction and input on all sites and to conduct internal true-up of all sites with direct manager.

 

Verizon Wireless Modernization Project:

Reported directly to Verizon Wireless Construction Management crew on site schedule, progress and completion.  Manage and oversaw internal personnel and general contractor on safety, Scope of work implementation and revisions, scoping, material verification and ordering, problem solving and solutions.  Reviewed close outs and punch lists before sending to customer.  Highly involved in internal planning, personnel adjustments and new hires.  Produced trackers for all site information.

 

NSN/T-Mobile Modernization Project:

Report directly to Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) for the T-Mobile modernization project. Modernizing over 75 T-Mobile sites to date with new antennas, fiber, new TMA’s, etc. LTE portion now starting on same sites.  Managed 10 construction managers, Project Coordinator along with 7 general contractors (3 man crews). Attend daily progress calls and one all hands meeting per week. Tracked all job costs internally including employee time reporting, approve all material costs and produce change requests when warranted. Work with Nokia Siemens Project Manager on changes to scope of work, tracking close outs for payment and change request.

 

Independent Contractor, CA, AZ, PA 04/2008 – 05/2010

 

Field Technician

Contracted by HP Communications to sweep test and verify RF (Radio Frequency) signal and coax cabling on DAS (Distributed Antenna System) equipment in various locations across the nation. Updated HP Communication trackers of sweep testing and updating Project Managers of progress and any issues that may arise onsite.

 

JC Airtouch Telecomm, Moreno Valley, CA                             08/2003 – 04/2008

 

Project Manager/Field Manager:

In direct contact with Construction Managers from Sprint, Next g, Hughes Networks, XO Communications, HP Communications on schedules, progress and completion of site upgrades, optimization, install’s, survey’s and any other work assigned to the company by any of the above vendors.  Created and maintained trackers for each vendor and reported accordingly.  Supervised and managed 3 crews on all site safety issues, materials, personnel, training and processes.  Well versed and trained crews in sweep testing, equipment installation commissioning and integrating of BTS and Microwave for Hughes Network, Proofread and approve close out packages before sending to customer for approval and billing.  Ensured all jobs stayed in projected costs and reported directly with owner in a weekly staff meeting.
